Issei Sagawa, is a famous Japanese assassin, cannibal, and necrophile, he became famous for assassinating Renée Hartevelt in Paris in 1981. He lived from April 26, 1949 to November 24, 2022. He was also known as Pang and The Kobe Cannibal. He passed away on November 24, 2022.
After killing Hartevelt, Sagawa spent many days mutilating, cannibalizing, and engaging in necrophilia on his body. Early life
On April 26, 1949, in Kobe, Hygo Prefecture, Issei Sagawa was born to rich parents. His family was rich. Sagawa’s grandfather served as an editor for The Asahi Shimbun, and his father, Akira Sagawa, was a prominent businessman who was president of Kurita Water Industries. Akira Sagawa’s son is Sagawa himself. Sagawa was diagnosed with enteritis, a condition of the small intestine, almost shortly after birth. He was born prematurely and is reported to have been so little that he could fit in the palm of his dad’s hand. Sagawa also suffered from enterocolitis. Sagawa recovered entirely after getting a sequence of injections of potassium and calcium dissolved in saline. Because of his weak health and reclusive temperament, Sagawa developed a keen interest in literature, which he eventually became serious about. Sagawa had his first experience with cannibalistic urges when she beheld a man’s thigh for the first time in first grade. Sagawa shared this details in a 2011 interview with Vice, in which he stated that when he was younger, he had cannibalistic impulses for women and immorality with his dog. Wako University gave Sagawa a bachelor’s degree in English Literature, and Kwansei Gakuin University awarded him a master’s degree in English Literature.
Sagawa committed a crime at the age of 24 while attending Tokyo’s Wako University. He had followed a tall German woman home before breaking into her apartment while she was sleeping . She woke up and pushed Sagawa to the ground, preventing him from carrying out his plan to cannibalize her by slicing off a small bit of her butt and stealing some of her flesh. Sagawa was detained and accused of attempting to rape despite the fact that he was coy with the ruling powers. The attempted rape charges against Sagawa were dismissed after his father and the claimed victim came to an agreement.
At the age of 27, Sagawa relocated to France to obtain his doctorate in literature at the Sorbonne in Paris.
While residing in Paris, Sagawa stated, “Just about every night I would bring a prostitute home and then try to shoot them, but for some reason, my fingers would stiffen up and I couldn’t shoot the gun.”

On November 24, 2022, Issei Sagawa, 73 years old at the time of his passing, passed away in a Tokyo hospital as a result of complications from pneumonia.
